Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Team Mio ("we", "us") about your use of the Sixpence app. By downloading, opening, or using Sixpence, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Who may use Sixpence

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that is higher. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use Sixpence with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

2. Your account

You can play most of Sixpence without an account. Online play requires one. You can sign in with Google or with Apple.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your sign-in secure. Do not impersonate anyone, and do not choose a player name that is offensive, misleading, or that pretends to be another person or to be part of Sixpence.

3. Zero tolerance for abusive conduct and objectionable content

Sixpence lets players choose a name, upload a photo, and write to each other in match chat. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You must not:

• harass, threaten, bully, stalk or abuse another player, in chat or through a player name or profile photo;
• post content that is hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, violent, or that sexualises minors in any way;
• impersonate another person, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
• post another person's private information;
• advertise, spam, or try to sell anything;
• use Sixpence for anything unlawful.

Any player can report content or block another player from inside the app. We review reports and may remove content, suspend an account, or terminate it permanently, without notice. Players found to have posted objectionable content or abused other players may be ejected. We do not routinely monitor match chat, which means reporting is how we learn about problems.

4. Content you create

You keep ownership of what you create: your player name, your profile photo, and your match chat messages. You give us permission to store, display and transmit that content so the app can work, for as long as you keep it in the app. That permission ends when the content or your account is deleted.

You confirm you have the right to any photo you upload.

5. Lives

Sixpence uses lives. Lives are earned by playing, by watching an advertisement, or by waiting for a refill. Lives have no monetary value. They cannot be bought, sold, transferred, or exchanged for money, and they are not your property. We may change how lives are earned, spent, or replenished, and we may remove them entirely.

6. Fair play

Do not cheat, use modified clients, automate play, exploit bugs, tamper with game state, or interfere with other players' games. Do not try to break, probe, or overload the service. We may end a match, reverse a result, or suspend an account where we believe this has happened.

7. Advertising

Sixpence is funded by advertising supplied by Google AdMob. Where required, we ask for your consent before showing personalised ads, and you can change that choice at any time in Settings.

8. Deleting your account, and suspension

You can delete your account at any time from Settings inside the app. You do not need to contact us. Deletion is described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, or if we stop offering the app. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

9. The app is provided as it is

Sixpence is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that online play will always be available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties that are not expressly given in these terms.

10. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or lost progress. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep all the rights the law of your country gives you.

11. Our intellectual property

The Sixpence name, the app, its artwork, sounds, and code belong to us or to our licensors. The underlying games chess, ludo, and the card games are traditional and are not claimed by us. You may not copy, decompile, resell or redistribute the app except where the law permits.

12. Apple and Google

You must also comply with the terms of the store you installed from. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for Sixpence. If you installed from the App Store, Apple has no obligation to provide support, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will ask you to review it inside the app before you continue. Continuing to use Sixpence after a change means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, without regard to conflict of law rules, and the courts of Dhaka, Bangladesh have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

If you are a consumer, nothing above deprives you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or of any right you have to bring proceedings in your local courts.
